WW+P at Architects Index of Modelmaking exhibition in Venice
At WW+P we use models not just as representations of projects, but as tools for exploration, validation and innovation. As such, we’re very proud to be showcasing how crucial the medium is to our practice, as part of the Architects Index of Modelmaking launch exhibition at the Palazzo Bembo in Venice.
As part of the exhibition we’re premiering a deep-dive film into the process of making across our studios here at WW+P, watch highlights from this below.
From the earliest stages of design, we combine traditional hand-crafted techniques with modern rapid prototyping technologies to refine our ideas with creativity and precision. This hands-on approach encourages a studio culture where physical experimentation sparks discovery and pushes boundaries.
Four guiding principles lead us through every project: listen first, think sustainably, create a clear vision, and deliver a crafted response. Models bring a tactile sensibility to our projects and a nuanced understanding of materials, grounding our designs in craftsmanship.
We always challenge the “why.” What is the model’s purpose? How will it serve the design? Can we elevate its impact? These questions drive our process. Through making, we interrogate the design and communicate the thinking behind every decision.
At the heart of what we do is a commitment to sound design, effective communication, and confident decision-making. Models are a powerful way to achieve all three, offering flexibility in scale and material to suit each project's needs.
The exhibition is running 10 May to 23 Nov at the European Cultural Centre, Palazzo Bembo, as part of the 'TIME SPACE EXISTENCE' exhibition at the Venice Biennale.
