We support the Voice to Parliament
We say Yes to the invitation of the Uluru Statement from the Heart from First Nations Australians - to walk together to a better future
Constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia is a crucial step in the ongoing process of reconciliation and upholding First Nations’ rights to self-determination. It offers an avenue for First Nations peoples to actively participate in decision making regarding the polices and laws that directly affect them.
As part of WW+P’s practice values we advocate for responsible architecture and design. We create building, spaces and infrastructure that have an enduring impact on Country, and our work alongside First Nations designers deeply influences our way of listening, thinking, seeing, and connecting. We are inspired to learn from their rich connection to culture and place, acknowledging that we are always on Country, surrounded by and part of a living system.
We recognise that this is only the first step in the journey to Voice, Truth and Treaty for First Nations peoples, and we encourage our partners and clients to take the time to listen, learn and be educated ahead of the historic Constitutional Referendum.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the communities and land where we work and live. We are inspired to learn from their enduring, rich connection to culture and place. We acknowledge that we are always on Country, surrounded by and part of a living system. We pay our respects to the ancestors who walked before and those who follow.
