People-focused
Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft represent an exciting new form of zero-emission mobility that will better connect people in cities and regions. These new aircraft require associated ground infrastructure; to address this, we developed a site-agnostic vertiport. Our design prioritises users by providing a high-quality passenger experience while being compact enough and efficient to build and operate.
Inventive
The vertiport form is generated from the geometry of the ‘Final Approach and Take Off’ area. The sweeping inner curve forms a building that provides exceptional views of the airfield and directs passenger flows seamlessly. The building is designed to be deployed across different sites at different scales and configurations while retaining the same architectural identity, important in establishing a recognisable brand for an entirely new mobility network.
Responsible
As a new form of sustainable transport, it is important that vertiports are adaptable and employ circularity principles. Our lightweight and configurable modular approach maximises standardisation while allowing vertiports to be easily expanded or relocated as the market matures. The compact footprint of our design not only reduces costs but also the use of materials and associated embodied carbon.
