People-focused

As the public body responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing Britain’s rail infrastructure, Network Rail’s design manuals deliver a common form of reference for all parties involved in the design and operations of their transport infrastructure. The manuals are structured to provide ease of use for readers, illustrated throughout and capturing a wide variety of good practice examples to inform future work.

Inventive

The range of users for the manuals required a collaborative approach to their design and development. We worked alongside technical experts and user groups to create the high-quality manuals. Having delivered 9 manuals from the macro level of wayfinding and heritage to strategic station design, masterplanning and inclusive design principles, we took lessons learnt from each to create a comprehensive suite. working through the manuals

This document provides practical guidance which, protects the unique qualities of the historic estate and  provides advice as to how best to maintain it in the appropriate condition related to its operational functionality and cultural importance.
