People-focused

Our four Merton housing schemes deliver the borough’s first new council homes in a generation. The development converts underutilised brownfield sites into highly sustainable homes sensitively placed into their urban landscape.

Inventive

Each development responds to its specific built context and enhances the surrounding public realm. At Elm Nursery we have added 10 new trees to the site. At Canons Place we created a new public route through the site, with a public square centred around the existing Pagoda Tree which was voted ‘Merton’s Favourite Tree 2019’.

Our new council homes will help residents through the cost of living crisis, they will be built to a high energy efficiency level, keeping running costs lower.

Leader of Merton Council, Councillor Ross Garrod

Responsible

These homes will meet the highest standards of sustainable design, including Passivhaus, ensuring lower living costs for future residents, and delivering a vision for a more sustainable, greener and high-quality living environment. Increased biodiversity, renewable energy sources and materials with low embodied carbon are embedded into all the homes.
