People-focused
The Kořenice–Bečváry High Speed Rail Station is designed to connect rural areas in a way that respects nature, brings people together, and supports a greener future.
The station turns a railway embankment into a space that unites rather than divides. A sweeping pedestrian path runs through the centre, creating a seamless route between the north and south that links nearby villages, public transport, and future developments together.

Inventive
Every choice aims to achieve more with less, and each element of the scheme has been designed to serve more than one use; The railway embankment becomes part structure, part insulation, part circulation and the railway bridge acts as a sculptural anchor and entrance canopy.
Materials are modular, lightweight, and locally inspired; timber and steel canopies recall agricultural forms while providing flexibility for future growth. The design is phased and adaptable, growing with community needs over time.

Responsible
Sustainability is deeply embedded: thermal mass from the embankment moderates internal temperatures, solar panels generate clean energy, and harvested rainwater is reused on-site. New wetlands become peaceful public areas where people can relax and enjoy nature whilst balancing the environmental impact of the station construction. Building materials are sourced locally, and traditional methods like dry stone walling is used to reduce embodied carbon and celebrate regional heritage.
